California Renters Still Dream Of Homeownership

According to a study released by the California Association of Realtors (CAR) last month, renters in California are still optimistic about eventually owning a home. The study reports that California renters pay a median monthly rent of $1300 a month, but of course that number is higher in the Bay Area, with a median rent of $1800 a month. If you are among those who would eventually like to own a home, you are not alone. The infographic below shows a few of the benefits of owning a home versus continuing to rent.
