Sacramento, Calif. (KCRA) —

A 60-foot-tall, 24-inch in diameter tapered white fir Christmas tree arrived in Old Sacramento Wednesday morning for the 10th anniversary of the "Macy's Theatre of Lights" performances.

The tree was delivered from Carlton Christmas Farms in Shasta County.

Crews will use cranes to lift the approximately 10,000-pound tree into a special hole dug specifically for it.

Once in place, a team of volunteers will attach 100,000 lights and other decorations, according to a news release.

An official tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.

The theatrical shows which accompany the tree will continue Thursday-Sunday through Christmas Eve.
